On 3 November 2018, Vision China Times Melbourne organised the 2018 VIC Election Candidates Meet and Greet for Melbourne’s Chinese community at Box Hill Townhall. This event was sponsored by a number of Australian-Chinese businesses.
11 candidates from various political parties attended to speak and answer questions for over 80 local residents. Issues of concern raised by members of the audience included aged care, freedom of speech, immigration, foreign interference and safe seats issues.
Vision China Times is committed to bridging the gap between the Chinese community and the Australian government as well as communicating the government’s policies to the Chinese community in an unbiased way. This event enabled Australian-Chinese residents to be fully informed when exercising their duty to vote.
