Businesses were adorned with red lanterns and marigolds as locals and visitors came together to mark one of the most important events in the south east Asian cultural calendar. Freedom Plaza was a hive of activity across the two days, with music, dance and food entertaining families from across Fairfield City and Sydney.

Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone said the City is proud of its diverse and colourful community.

“Fairfield City is a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family, and it is also a fantastic destination for all residents of Sydney who want to enjoy the food, culture and entertainment on offer at our many events, and every day in our city centres,” Mayor Carbone said.

“This year’s Lunar New Year celebrations again showcased our community’s rich diversity and harmony and I congratulate Cabramatta on once again putting on a wonderful event.”
